What is “Accreditation”?

Accreditation is a process in which an organizations competency and credibility is presented to an outside body.

Accreditation can also be described as “a self-assessment and external peer assessment process used by health care organizations to accurately assess their level of performance in relation to established standards and to implement ways to continuously improve.”

MBHC’s staff assists organizations thought the US in developing a system to demonstrate competency and credibility to any one of three accrediting bodies.

The major accrediting bodies for healthcare accreditation are The Joint Commission (JC) or Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Facilities (CARF), Community Health Accreditation Program (CHAP).
